Frequently Asked Questions

A positive birth is honestly whatever you envision, feel and see it to be.
We are all individuals, and we have different wishes and expectations of what our birth will be like and there are many factors that come into it. In our preparations sessions we will discuss this a bit deeper.
Please know I am here to support YOUR choices, and respect any of your decisions. This is your birth, this is your body and this is your baby. I’m a doula that supports whatever feels best for you for the birth of your baby.
NO! full stop. I can tell you nothing can replace the presence and support of a loving partner.
We fill very different roles, and in no way do I take away, or take over, the partner's role in supporting the mother at all.
A doula can be there to help guide your partner on what to expect, how to respond, and stay calm, and allow them to be fully present, and confident being involved in your pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum.
A doula can work as a team with your partner and together be an amazing support team so you can both enter the transition of parenthood with a positive experiences and memory of the birth of your child.
Absolutely. This is something that is hugely important to me as I believe support should be available to everyone and I will do what I can to make it accessible to you.
This can be arranged and negotiated between us, to what suits your family and budget.
To secure your booking, I do require 20% non-refundable deposit. And the final payment is due by 21 days before your estimated due date.
Yes, I absolutely do. Whether you want help planning a positive elective caesarean, a hospital birth with an epidural, a home birth, an induction or VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Caesarean).
A doula is NOT a medical professional and in no way do I replace any medical care provider or health professional. I do not perform medical tasks or give any medical advice (i.e. I will not take your blood pressure, listen to baby’s heart or perform vaginal exams). I work within my scope, and if I think you need extra support, I will refer you to my long list of recommended health professionals.
Please note I am also a doula that does not support free births.
Honestly, whenever, there is no hard or fast rule. Obviously the earlier the better for availability wise. We also then have more time to get to know each other and build a strong connection. I work with clients at any stage of pregnancy. It’s never too late!
Education and ongoing training and learning are essential to me and my work.
I completed my certification in birth and postpartum doula services with the Australian Doula College in 2025.
I have done my Birth Cartography through Catherine Bell, where I am able to guide you through a birth map process, helping you to understand the decision points in birth and prepare for life with a baby. Birth mapping is all about communication, understanding and preparation.
I attended a two-day Spinning Babies workshop, where the focus was on learning techniques to restore balance, ease pregnancy discomforts and enhance fetal positioning through body movement, balance and gravity.
I have also done additional training and assessments to become a certified Hypnobirthing Practitioner, allowing me to teach The Positive Birth Program by Hypnobirthing Australia™.
Also, prior to having my own babies, I worked as an Enrolled Nurse within the Special Care Nursery, caring for premature and unwell babies needing extra care, supporting woman and families through their journey, assisting with breastfeeding and newborn care and first aid. I have worked in and across the healthcare industry for the past 10 years, caring for people.
Anywhere in the Scenic Rim and Ipswich areas, within a 50km radius. I can travel longer if needed but there would be an extra add on service charge. If you’re unsure if I cover your area, just reach out.
